I’d had the idea for Clouds Suck going round in my head for some time – all I needed was the threat of standing up in front of hundreds of strangers to deliver some of it to give me the impetus to develop it further.

And so it was that I found myself in front of the Bristol Ignite audience with 20 slides automatically advancing every 15 seconds whether I wanted them to or not, eight slides, a song, and more words than I’d get out of my mouth in an average week to explain to Bristol why Clouds Suck. In five minutes I delivered about half of what is now a 50 minute demo lecture. I might have been a little over ambitious!
